Meet Julia

Based on professional experience and an increasing body of evidence, I have observed the value of coaching in developing leadership capabilities. When I started my career in the eighties, hierarchical models of leadership, with the emphasis on power and control, were prevalent across most industries. My experience working across a range of commercial and public sector organisations, has shown me repeatedly that, with the right support, coaching generates more empowered, competent and resilient professionals. The role of the coach is to facilitate and enable that process and in doing so, to grow the leaders of the future.

Combined with an interest in positive psychology with its emphasis on what is 'right’ with people rather then what is ‘wrong ‘ with them, I have developed my expertise in enabling others to fulfil their professional and intellectual potential.

I have spent over 30 years coaching and mentoring in the field of professional development, working with individuals and organisations in education and industry. In the 90’s, I followed a post-graduate diploma in Psychology and was then funded to pursue a PhD in the fledgling field of coaching and mentoring. In recent years, I have completed the University of Pennsylvania’s programme in Positive Psychology and Resilience and the ILM 7 qualification in executive and professional coaching. I continue to deliver individual coaching, group coaching and training in both coaching and culture change.
