Leadership Coaching Training

Leadership is not something people are born with, but skills and a set of behaviours which can be learned.

The key to changing behaviours is to focus on mindsets and mind states. Bringing into conscious awareness our thoughts and beliefs allows us to challenge those, and to change in order to develop our strengths as leaders. Coaching is a critical part of this process, both for existing leaders and in order to develop future leaders.

McKinsey (2022) identify 4 key qualities of leadership all of which our programme seeks to cultivate:

  • Being supportive

  • Seeking different perspectives

  • Solving problems effectively

  • Operating with a strong results orientation

About the workshop

Our workshop is covered over the course of a day, this can be longer or shorter depending on the content, which is agreed with the client prior to the event.

The basis of the training is formed around scenario-based learning (SBL). Studies published in the Journal of Educational Psychology reported higher levels of interest, enjoyment, and satisfaction using this style, compared to that of more traditional training methods.

Below is a small summary of the basics we cover on the course:

  • Explain what coaching is (and is not)

  • Justify how it can be used to support performance.

  • Explain a simple coaching model.

  • Demonstrate the skills associated with coaching.

  • Practice and receive feedback on your own coaching style.

  • Demonstrate where and how coaching can be applied in the workplace.
